Learning Outcomes

The course aims to deepen students' understanding of issues related to the evaluation of the structural and functional condition of pavements through on-site measurements, within the framework of Periodic Pavement Monitoring Systems. Additionally, it serves as the basis for making appropriate decisions regarding the maintenance, strengthening, or reconstruction of pavements.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Describe the usefulness and the method of application of a Pavement Monitoring System.
  • Mention the procedures for evaluating and managing pavements.
  • Evaluate the structural and functional condition of a pavement in the context of performance.
  • Analyse and evaluate the results of non-destructive tests within the framework of pavement assessment.
  • Applie widely accepted methodologies for road pavement reinforcement.
  • Select appropriate pavement restoration technologies.
