Quality Policy of the grasduate studies of the Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering has harmonized the Quality Policy of its Undergraduate Study Program with the Quality Policy of the University of the Peloponnese, based on the standards of the Hellenic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Agency (HAQA) and the guidelines of the Hellenic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Agency (HAQA) and in collaboration with social partners. The Department collaborates with the services of the Institution and mainly with the Quality Assurance Unit to ensure the best possible education for students. The mission of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of the Peloponnese is to provide its students with a thorough education, based on the principles of student-centered learning in the science of Civil Engineering. It aims to enable its graduates to enter the workforce with the knowledge and skills necessary to practice their profession and assume the responsibilities that come with it.
The objectives of the Undergraduate Program of the Department of Civil Engineering are:
i) To provide a strong foundation in the basic sciences.
ii) To develop core courses across the entire range of the subject area.
iii) The deepening and consolidation of knowledge at a high level across the entire range of the subject area of Civil Engineering.
iv) The acquisition of knowledge regarding problem-solving methodology and the methodology of analysis, synthesis, and design of systems and
applications.
v) The development of skills in the field of Civil Engineering that will equip graduates and make them competitive for their future professional activities.
vi) The introduction of students to research through their thesis and the courses of the final semesters.
 

The Department's quality policy is linked to that of the Institution and includes:
- Providing high-level education, updating the curriculum on an annual basis and focusing on learning outcomes.
- Achieving a better connection between the curriculum and the labour market.
- Strengthening research by promoting collaborations with the aim of contributing to society.
- Recognising and rewarding the achievements of Department members (students and professors).
- Strengthening extroversion by promoting the Department's presence at national and international level.
- Promoting academic integrity and freedom, based on the equal treatment of members of the academic community, without discrimination or exclusion.
 

The Department of Civil Engineering is committed to implementing its quality policy and reviewing its quality assurance procedures when necessary, by evaluating the achievement of objectives by the OMEA in collaboration with the MODIP of the Institution.
The Department's quality policy is posted on the website and communicated to all members of the academic community.
