  2. Elements of urban road construction.
  3. At-grade intersections (conventional).
  4. At-grade intersections (roundabouts).
  5. Interchange.
  6. Adjacent road equipment.
  7. Special issues in determining critical geometric parameters.
  8. Human factor in road design.

Learning Outcomes

The course aims to familiarise students with modern road design processes, elements of roadside environment design, human factor elements, as well as the development of critical thinking and the synthesis of knowledge from international practice to formulate specific proposals and solutions to key road safety control issues.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Design roads and interchanges.
  • Design at-grade roundabouts.
  • Identify the characteristics of the road and the adjacent space that contribute to the mistakes of road users.
