Learning Outcomes

The course material includes the basic concepts of designing irrigation and drainage projects. The course aims to acquire basic knowledge related to the design and operation of irrigation and drainage systems.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Calculate the irrigation water needs of the crops, the specific irrigation rate, the range, and the duration of irrigation.
  • Select and apply the appropriate irrigation method.
  • Design irrigation systems and irrigation networks.
  • Enumerate and explain the basic principles of drainage methods.
  • Design drainage systems and drainage networks.
