The Department was established by the Law 4610/19 and is an evolution of the Civil Engineering Department of the former Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece, which, after various transformations, has been in existence for over 40 years. Over the years, it has established itself in the market as a department whose graduates are capable of meeting all the challenges of the profession, mainly from a construction perspective. It was fully equipped with laboratories, as the nature of the TEI was mainly laboratory-based, which remain the property and in use of the new Civil Engineering Department. Maintaining its good reputation in the job market, the Department proved popular with candidates in the national examinations, filling 100% of its places. Students choose this department because of the high quality of the studies provided, but also because of the emphasis placed on the laboratory component and the practical training that connects students directly to the job market. In addition, the geographical location of the Department, as well as the high percentage of graduates finding employment, attracts students and makes it one of their top choices.
